Train Days at Union Depot

Union Depot in St. Paul is hosting Train Days on April 30 and May 1, 2016. This event celebrates the history and adventure of rail travel, combining plenty of fun with lots of educational experiences.

A highlight is the Minnesota High-Speed Rail display. Andru Peters, a council member from Lake City, and the vice-chair of the Minnesota High-Speed Rail Commission will be on hand to answer questions and distribute free bookmarks and buttons.

Other exhibits include tons of railroad equipment including an Amtrak exhibit train, Milwaukee Road Steam Locomotive, baggage cars, and more! The event will also feature the Twin City Model Railroad Museum, National Association of Railroad Passengers, Trains Magazine, the National Park Service, and the MnDOT passenger rail office.

Take advantage of the several free activities that are sure to be fun for the whole family and look into some of the ticketed events including multi-media shows, behind the scenes photo shoots, and even yoga on the train.

Itís even easier to celebrate at this great event since Metro Transit is offering free rides to Union Depot. Get your free pass here.

Union Depot is celebrating 90 years this year and is becoming more and more of a major transportation hub. Celebrate the history and future of train travel with this great collection of passionate folks.
